This course deals with the skills and knowledge requirements for responsible conduct of gambling under State/Territory legislation. All staff working in gaming areas of hotels and registered  clubs  are required to complete this course.
 
This course is VETAB (NSW) and NSW Office of Liquor, Gaming and Racing (OLGR formerly LAB) approved. (Taken from Industry National Competency SITHGAM006A - SIT07 Tourism, Hospitality and Events - Certificate III in Hospitality)

  • NSW Gaming Machines Act 2001 and Gaming Machines Regulation 2002
  • How these laws affect employees of licensed premises
  • Harm Minimisation provisions of the gambling laws
  • Legislative provisions for responsible gambling provision
  • Minors & proof of age
  • Offences and penalties
  • Statutory & other signage
  • Self-exclusion schemes
  • Strategies for preventing underage gambling
  • Importance of advising patrons of assistance available to problem gamblers
  • Implementation of House Policies and industry codes of practice
  • Understanding duty of care
  • Alcohol and gambling
  • Appreciating the benefits of conducting gaming in a responsible manner
  • About the industry, legislation and employer expectations

Pre-requisites: There are no pre-requisites for this course

Training Course Outcomes:
After successful completion participants will receive NSW Office of Liquor, Gaming and Racing (OLGR) Certificates
Please arrive 15-20 minutes earlier to complete necessary paper work
